If you think this is the super bowl or if you're feeling way too hardcore about this, then there is a good chance this isn't for you. Dodgeball is an activity like no other. The teams are large and there are lots of balls, energy and loud music.
During the course of play, an official can only see so much. Recent scientific studies have determined that approximately 75% of the ref's calls will be correct. 15% of the calls will be borderline and the remaining percentage is a figment of your imagination.
It is due to the above findings that we ask all players to heavily invest in the honor system. Please, please, please remember to be honest and fair. Give an opposing player the same courtesy that you'd want for yourself. At no time during the course of playing should you act as a referee towards the opposing team. The only time we ask you to help in the officiating is when it involves policing your own teammates. Often times you may see something happen during the game that a teammate is not aware of. Helping out in this way will only add to the fun had by all. Please refrain from fingerpointing (witch hunt mentality.)
There is zero tolerance for arguing, taunting, cussing, physical altercation or any other poor sportsmanship. Seriously, this is most importantly about having fun. Its just dodgeball so remember if you're into arguing look for a debate team.
Please also note that there is no smoking, drinking or fornicating of any kind allowed on rec center grounds. Using rec center facilities is a privilege, not a right. Any of the above infractions can jeopordize our use and your use of the facilities.
Lastly, be respectful of all teammates, opponents, officials, rec center...BE RESPECTFUL of everyone. Play honest, fair, for fun, and always refrain from being a dodgeball douche. |
