Rules
We will be playing dodgeball all day then partying all night(just like KISS). After the day of dodgeball we will wrap up the day with a party with the best horribly cheesy music by really bad hair bands. So, dust off those wicked acid wash, torn jeans and bandanas because it's time to Wang Chung.

The Court- A rectangle didvided into two equal halves

Teams- A team will consist of a roster of no more than 8 players. 6 players will be on the court per team per game. Teams can sub players in between games or in case of an injury. Coed division teams must have 1 girl on the court at the beginning of each game.

Object- To eliminate all members of the opposing team. Each match is the best of 3 games.

The Play- Play begins with each team lined up their respective sides' back line. 6 balls are on the centerline. On the whistle players can retrieve balls. The balls must clear an attack line 5 ft back from the centerline before they can be thrown.

Eliminations- If any part of your body touches the opposing side (across the center line)

If you are hit by an opponents ball in the air in any part of the body excluding the head you are out. This also includes deflections. The ball is live until it touches the ground. Meaning for example if a ball ricochets and strikes 4 players all players are out if the ball is not caught.

A hit player is still alive until the ball that initially struck becomes dead (i.e. hits the ground) This means a player may get hit by a ball and if the ball is still in the air they may still throw or catch.

Headshots-if a player is standing and is hit in the head neither they nor the thrower are out. However, it is only a headshot if it is direct hit meaning if a deflection hits you in the head you are out.

If your thrown ball is caught by an opponent before it touches the ground (this includes off of deflections of players or balls) One foot in bounds equals a good catch, both feet out does not.

A player may hold a ball as a shield to defend. However, if the ball you are holding is knocked out of your hands by an opponentŐs ball you are out. (Once a held ball is used to block you must keep possession of that ball if you wish to make a good catch on a deflected ball)

If you step out of the court to avoid a throw you are out. You can step out to retrieve a ball, but must be on the court to throw.

You are a live target even when retrieving a ball.

If 2 balls hit each other in the air they are dead balls.

*** We play mainly on the honor system, but the referee has complete authority.

Catch-Ins- A good catch is a ball caught in the playing court before it touches the ground (including deflections off a held ball or teammates body) If a player catches a ball an eliminated teammate can re-enter the game. Players must form an out line in the order they were eliminated. First out would be first back in.

Substitutions- players can be subbed for a rostered player at the beginning of games. If there is a legitimate injury during a game a player may be able to sub upon the ref's approval.

Delay of game- a 15 second throw clock will be incorporated by the Ref. Ref may instruct you that you need to throw if it appears you are stalling. We don't have all day people. Also, this is not a counting exercise. We know you can count to 15 so you don't need to do it out loud. Ref can call you out for excessive stalling.

If one team is in possession of all the balls they have 5 seconds to give the other side a ball.

Winner: The first team to win a best of three match. Games will have 6:00 time limits. Teams with the most players on the court at the end of time (game) will be the winner. Sudden death will be the refs' discretion.

Timeouts: Game only stops on the ref's whistle. Each team has one 30 seconds timeouts per match. You can use this time to eat orange slices, call your mom, go to the potty, etc.

Refs and Event Officials are All-Powerful- They make final rulings in the case of a dispute. If you are unhappy with the result you can try to go on The Peoples' Court
